All services are 100% free, no ID or documentation required, no judgement. Just hope and help for anyone in need!

Office Hours:

Food Center

Hours:

🕒 Wednesdays 3:30 - 6 PM, Thursdays 10 AM - 12:30 PM, plus last Saturday of each month 10 AM - 12:30 PM

Where it's located:

Outdoors grocery-market style along the East side of our building

What to expect:

Our team of volunteers and part-time staff offer shelf-stable goods, fresh produce, meat, dairy, plant proteins, breads, and pet food as availability allows. 

Everything is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Anyone can access free food, as everyone is welcome at Our Place! Our Free Fresh Food Market operates outdoors, so be prepared to bear the elements.

How to access:

  • Just show up with a bag or box to transport your items! We have a simple self-reporting intake system and you are welcome to choose what you can use from what we have available.

  • Line starts well before service on the sidewalk.

  • Check out our Facebook live video before each service to see what types of items we have that day!

Clothing Center

The White door near the North West side of our building on College Ave

What to expect:

Clean and gently used clothing for men, women, and children—including shoes, bras, and seasonal items—along with small housewares like dishes, bedding, and other household essentials. You'll also find a little free library and other fun supplies as donations allow.

Everything is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and depends on the generous donations we receive.

In order to help as many people as possible, we ask that folks keep in mind our limits (posted on site) and choose just one day a week to visit us.

How to access:

  • Just show up with a bag or box to transport your items! We have a simple self-reporting intake system and you are welcome to choose what you can use from what we have available, keeping in mind our item limits so that we may help as many folks as possible.

  • Line starts on the sidewalk, and our team welcomes neighbors into the Clothing Center as space allows. Because the space is small, guests are invited to give the white door a knock, and a staff member or volunteer will greet you as soon as we’re able.

Hygiene Center

The Orange door near the middle of our building on College Ave

What to expect:

We typically offer essentials like soap, shampoo, razors, laundry detergent, toothbrushes, toilet paper, and more. Availability depends on the donations we receive, and all items are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to access:

  • Line starts outside the orange door, and hygiene product requests may be taken outside by a volunteer with a clipboard or inside at check-in.

  • While our team gathers and bags requested items, one household at a time is invited in to browse the foyer table for donated personal care products—including a variety of beauty products, thanks to our partnership with Project Beauty Share.

Laundry Center

Hours:

🕒 Tuesdays: Opens at 9 am, last load in by 10:45 am, closes at 12:00 pm

🕒 Wednesdays: Opens at 2 pm, last load in by 4:45 pm, closes at 6:00 pm

🕒 Thursdays: Opens at 9 am, last load in by 11:15 am, closes at 12:30 pm

What to expect:

Our newly renovated Laundry Center offers free, self-serve laundry on a first-come, first-served basis. We provide laundry detergent as availability allows, thanks to generous community donations.

To ensure enough time for everyone to finish, we ask that the last load be started no later than 10:45 AM on Tuesdays, 4:45 PM on Wednesdays, and 11:15 AM on Thursdays.

How to access:

  • Just bring your laundry! Detergent is provided when available. Our attendant will add soap and bleach to the machines and is available to assist if needed, while you run your laundry.

  • Line starts outside the green door, and a team member welcomes folks in as space allows.

  • Each household may use one washer/dryer unit per visit—please limit laundry visits to once per week.

  • 1–2 person households are welcome to do up to 2 loads per week, while those from larger households (3 or more) may do up to 3 loads per week.

  • Please empty all pockets before washing. Stay with your laundry during all cycles and keep small children away from machines for their safety.

  • After drying, empty the lint trap and clean up your area. Be respectful and considerate of others, our machines are shared by many. :)

  • No shoes, sleeping bags, large blankets, or backpacks, please.

  • Our Place is not responsible for lost or stolen items. We trust you!

Other Services

Bus Passes

Outdoors at the Food Center intake table

What to expect:

We offer a limited number of day bus passes during Wednesday and Thursday services, available on a first-come, first-served basis. These passes are meant to provide a little extra support in times of need, especially for neighbors without other transportation options who are trying to get to medical appointments, job interviews, housing resources, or other essential services.

While we no longer offer monthly passes due to changes in STA’s program, we remain committed to walking alongside our neighbors during life’s most challenging moments.

How to access:

  • Day bus passes available at the intake table of our Food Center.

  • A limited number of passes are available and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis during our Wednesday and Thursday service hours.

Avista Utility Assistance

🕒 The first Tuesday of the month beginning at 9 AM

What to expect:

Our Place offers up to $300 in Avista utility assistance once per year to residents of Spokane’s West Central neighborhood (see map below). Assistance is limited and provided on a first-come, first-served basis based on the order requests are received.

How to access:

  • Call on the first Tuesday of the month to request assistance at 509-326-7267.

  • Please have your Avista account number and address ready to share when you call.

Our Place Cares about Inclusivity

Our Place’s emergency relief services are happily human powered by a women-led team of volunteers and part-time staff who come from all walks of life. We embrace inclusive language and attitudes as our team welcomes anyone in need!

In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), religious creed, disability, age, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.

Weather Policy

For the safety of our neighbors and our team, our services may be abbreviated or closed when the temperatures drop BELOW 15 degrees or get ABOVE 95 degrees. 

Zero Tolerance Policy

Our Place is a drug- and alcohol-free zone. The safety of our volunteers, neighbors, and staff is our highest priority. 

We have  zero-tolerance policy for all forms of harassment, including but not limited to: Abusive language, Aggressive behavior, Inappropriate comments (sexual or otherwise), Physical assault, Threats, Weapons or Sharp objects.

Incidents may result in removal from the premises and suspension of access to Our Place's services to up to one year.
